The Ultimate TDA ESO Build collection

I think we need to have a collection of all the build made by guild members and make it possible to look them up.

I think it is best the use the following order:
  1. Tank: Meat Shield (high health)
  2. Tank: Mitigation Tank (high armor and block)
  3. Tank: Avoidance Tank (increase miss rate and blinds enemies)
  4. Tank: Regenerator (high health regeneration)
  5. Tank: Magic Tank (high spell resistance or elemental resistance)
  6. Healer: Classic Healer (high healing output)
  7. Healer: Preemptive Healer or Curer (prevents damage received)
  8. Ranged DPS: Nuker (high direct spell damage)
  9. Ranged DPS: DoT Master (high damage over time)
  10. Ranged DPS: Archer (high physical damage)
  11. Melee DPS: Blademaster (slow attacks, high damage per hit)
  12. Melee DPS: Scrapper (fast attacks, movement)
  13. Melee DPS: Backstabber (fast attacks, stealth)
  14. Status Effect: Buffer (strengthen allies)
  15. Status Effect: Debuffer (weaken enemies)
  16. Status Effect: Mezzer (crowd control enemies)
  17. Resource Master: Power Re-generator (magicka, stamina regen of allies)
  18. Resource Master: Power De-generator (magicka, stamina degen of enemies)
  19. Pet Master: The Summoner (Summoned companions)
  20. Other: Area of Effect (focus on group damage)
  21. Other: Jack of All Trades (everything else)

I think it is best to use this Skill Calculator: http://skillcalc.massyx.de/

Per build I would like to see, the following:

Build name:

Tank builds

Build name: Crusader
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Meat Shield (1) and Magic Tank (5)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1fnx8Go
Race: Breton
Class: Templar
Weapons: Two Handed (Blade, Mace or Axe) and Destruction Staff (Fire)
Armor types: Heavy 5/7 Light 2/7
Description: High Health. Sun Fire to open attack, follow up with an AoE attack: Brawler, Elemental Ring or the ultimate Radial Sweep. Use Rally to boost weapon damage every 20 seconds. Use Ritual of Rebirth to heal yourself if needed. Knockback enemies with Binding Javelin to keep melee from healers. Sturdy Horn is a good PvP ultimate, that increases health, stamina and magicka of your allies and yourself.

Build name: Tankblade
Author: Duke
Role: (1) Meat Shield (2) Mitigation Tank (3) Avoidance Tank (4) Regenerator (5) Magic Tank (14) Buffer
Link: http://goo.gl/IJzFuo
Race: Imperial
Class: Nightblade
Weapon: Dual-Wield/Sword&Shield
Armor: Heavy Armor (5/7) Medium Armor (2/7)
Description: First set is for synergizing Mirage & Ember Explosion, causing opponent to have 55% miss chance against you. Combined with Shuffle (with snare removal), 15% Dodge chance for those 45% of attacks that should get through and your heavy armor & high health, this should make you very hard to kill in melee. Whirling Blades is there for moderate AoE damage (and stamina recovery) and Sap Essence for increasing your weapon damage (increases Whirling Blades' damage as well) and healing. Use Veil of Blades for even more AoE and 60% damage reduction for 15 seconds. (Applies snare as well and synergy for allies)
Second set is against magic users or single targets. Use Swallow Soul on as many enemies as possible for high health regeneration, Inner Beast to taunt targets (may be swapped for something else for PvP) and Refreshing Path to close the gap to enemy while healing yourself. Leeching Strikes should give you more health/stamina/magicka regeneration and Absorb Magic may act as a self heal/damage mitigation as well. Use Reviving Barrier to shield allies and heal them. (Not sure if this works on the caster himself.)

Build name: Dervish
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Roles: Mitigation Tank (2), Scrapper (12), Buffer (14)
Link: http://goo.gl/vRVQlM
Race: Redguard
Class: Dragonknight
Weapons: Sword&Shield / 2x Swords
Armor types: Medium
Description: A pretty straightforward build that doesn't need much explanation. The Redguards' high base stamina and stamina regen fuelled by the medium armor's ability make it a sturdy shield bearer or an effective double strike spammer. Some abilities boost the allies with bigger dps.

Build name: Knight
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Mitigation Tank (2) Blademaster (11)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/MW3nWm
Race: Orsimer
Class: Dragonknight
Weapons: One handed (Blade) and Shield and Two Handed (Blade)
Armor types: Heavy 7/7
Description: High Armor. High Block. Use Extended Chains to get enemies to you as fast as possible (pull them off castles in PvP). Use Ransack and Deep Slash, to reduces the armor and the damage dealt by your enemies with your Onehanded Blade and Shield. Use Brawler (AoE attack) and Rally (damage boost) with your Twohanded Blade. Immovable and Razor Armor are strong self defense abilities. Stonefist and Molten Weapons are PvP abilities that either has a knockback attack or increases weapon damage.

Build name: Blood Leecher
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Avoidance Tank (3) and Regenerator (4)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1lWfXRS
Race: Redguard
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield (Daggers or Blades) and Onehanded (Blade) and Shield
Armor types: Heavy Armor 7/7
Description: High Max. Health. All abilities give health in return or increases miss chance, while the ultimate Sturdy Horn increases magicka, stamina and health for 30 seconds. Always start the fights with Swallow Soul, and finish the fights with Killer's Blade. Use Sparks (Morph 2) and Double Take to increase miss chance of your enemies. Use Leeching Strikes if you are running low on resources. While Absorbs Magic increases your Block rate and absorbs spells and give health in return. Use Blood Craze and Pierce Armor to deal damage from your stamina resources. Blood Craze will heal you, while Pierce Armor will make your Swallow Soul more effective. The PvE and PvP builds are the same.

Build name: Juggernaut
Author: Duke
Roles: Regenerator (4), Meat Shield (1), Blademaster (11) Area of Effect (20)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/MW0nsS
Race: Any

Weapons: Two-Handed (Mace, Axe or Blade)
Armor types: Heavy Armor 7/7
Description: Charge in where the fight is thickest or pull someone to you (with Extended Chains in the second set), the more enemies there are around you, the more damage you can take/deal. (Brawler & Drain Essence) Second set is more for survivability & finishing off single targets. (Executioner)

Healer builds

Build name: Classic Healer
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Classic Healer (6) and Nuker (
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/M0rZwc
Race: Breton
Class: Sorcerer
Weapons: Restoration Staff and Destruction Staff (Frost)
Armor types: Light 7/7
Description: High Magicka, High Magicka regen. Use Illustrious Healing and Rapid Regeneration to Heal. Use Crystal Blast and Endless Fury to DPS. Use Dampen Magicka or Siege Shield for defense.

Build name: "Waits-The-Fly"
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Role: Classic Healer (6), Nuker (
Link: http://goo.gl/AmN9ww
Race: Argonian
Class: Nighblade
Weapon: Restoration Staff
Armor: Light (7)
Description: The build focuses around high damage output and with that comes high healing output as well. The first loadout is 100% healing focused while the second makes for a valid support/dps role. Basically the higher the health of the character the deadlier she is and there are plenty of tools to ensure this. Stamina can be neglected, items should focus on adding more magicka and health should be stacked as high as possible.

Build name: Preemptive Healer
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Preemptive Healer and Curer (7)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/MVNTBA
Race: Breton
Class: Templar
Weapons: Restoration Staff
Armor types: Light 7/7
Description: High Magicka, High Magicka regen. Use Combat Prayer on the group. Healing Ward is used on 1 ally that is receiving a lot of damage. Keep Siphon Spirit up every 20 seconds. Use Cleansing Ritual to remove negative effects or Dampen Magicka to avoid a lot of incoming damage from mages. While hitting the Restoration Aura button, to keep the stamina and health regeneration high in the group.

Build name: Preemptive Healer
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Preemptive Healer (7) and Buffer (14)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1lW7I8l
Race: Breton
Class: Dragonknight
Weapons: Restoration Staff
Armor types: Light 7/7
Description: High Magicka, High Magicka regen. Use Obsidian Shard to keep enemies away from you. Set 1 is more for protecting allies with shields (also against melee attackers with Bone Surge), while set 2 is having the great combination to support melee with Molten Armaments and Quick Siphon (Increased health and weapon damage and crit). Illustrious Healing and Rapid Regeneration are the healing abilities. For PvE Dampen Magicka will give some extra survivability and for PvP Siege Shield is very welcome to protect trebuchets, ballistas and rams.

Melee / Ranged DPS

Build name: Acrobat
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Scrapper (12) and Archer (10)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1mgtkQi
Race: Orsimer
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield (daggers) and Bow (short)
Armor types: Medium 7/7
Description: Maximize movement speed, roll dodges, gain dodge chance or give miss chance. Use your Shadowy Disguise to improve your crit and defense.

Build name: Rogue
Author: Duke
Roles: Archer (10) Backstabber (13)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1bSxUQw
Race: Any
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield/Bow
Armor types: Medium Armor (7/7)
Description: A build made to get the full effect out of medium armor (mostly physical damage based abilities), the skills which use magicka are mostly utility skills to complement the stamina-based abilities.
Start out in stealth, debuff enemy with Reaper's Mark and buff yourself with Focused Attacks. Next determine if you want to deal with the target from ranged or melee.
Ranged: open with Snipe and if enemy gets close root him in place with Bombard. Dark Cloak is an emergency escape tool. (Also regenerates magicka due to passives in Shadow)
Melee: open with Concealed Weapon, causing 4 second stun and off balance, follow up with a heavy attack (off balance causes knockdown if hit by heavy attack) and start using stamina abilities based on the situation. If enemy escapes, use Lotus Fan to close the gap & snare him.

Build name: Shadowmaster
Author: Duke
Roles: Archer (10) Backstabber (13) Debuffer (15)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1bt0iZl
Race: Any
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield and Bow
Armor Types: Medium Armor 7/7 (Preferably with +Magicka)
Description: Bow for long range sniping & lots of Siphoning skills which drain opponent's movement & attack speed allowing you to kite him. On the other hand, lots of melee skills for more damage and Shadow Cloak, which allows you to engage the opponent that is chasing you in melee from stealth. Good for picking out single targets, or 1vs2/3 encounters.

Build name: Assassin
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Backstabber (13), Archer (10), DoT Master (9)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/MWc1UA
Race: Redguard
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield and Bow
Armor Types: Medium Armor 7/7
Description: High stamina, high critical damage. Use Mark Target before battle. Open your attack with Ambush or Snipe. Use Haste to increase your attack speed. Use Rapid Strikes, Poison Injection, Acid Spray during your fight. And Impact to finish of enemies. Use Death Stroke if the enemy is getting healed.

Build name: Tempest
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Roles: Blade Master (11), Nuker (
Link: http://goo.gl/Eakys5
Race: Breton
Class: Sorcerer
Weapons: 2-Handed (Axe)
Armor types: Light / Heavy
Description: Stack health, nuke with spamming Mage's Wrath, hack into pieces anyone who's weakened, nuff said... The first load-out is all-in offense with damage increasing abilities, the second one is for a slightly more cautious approach.

Build name: Shadow
Author: Duke
Roles: Archer (10) Backstabber (13)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1g4Qkcp
Race: Any
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Dual Wield/Bow
Armor types: Medium Armor (7/7) Stamina focused
Description: Similar to the Rogue above, but potentially much more deadly.
PvP: Set up a Shadow Image (uses bow and is immobile as of patch 0.18) in a location out of enemy sight/reach. Next choose a target (preferably healer) and set Reaper's Mark. After this, teleport into the middle of enemy group and use Power Extraction for 100% damage boost. (If there are atleast 9 players nearby.) Next, execute the target with Death Stroke, or use the Shadow Image skill again to teleport back to safety with your +100% damage buff and use Dark Cloak to totally disappear. Switch to bow set and find your marked target, hit them with Lethal Arrow (Snipe morph) for a probable one-shot. Rinse & repeat for other targets.
Possible weaknesses: enemy players with fast reflexes, DPS & CCs
PvE: Always use Reaper's Mark & Focused Attacks on bosses for supreme single-target DPS and stamina regeneration. When AoE is needed, use Power Extraction and start using Whirling Blades (with the damage boost from Power Extraction.), Bombard to root mobs in place in case CC is required.
Possible weaknesses: lack of meaningful group synergies (common Nightblade problem)

Melee DPS

Build name: Barbarian
Author: Mark1987
Roles: Blademaster (11), Buffer (14)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1jH2sHp
Race: Orsimer
Class: Dragonknight
Weapons: Two Handed (set 1: Axe (bleed) and set 2: Mace (reduced armor))
Armor Types: Medium Armor 7/7
Description: High stamina, high critical damage. Use Foward Momentum and Molten Armaments to buff yourself and your allies, keep your buffs up. Critical Rush or Empowering Chains to start the fight. When the enemies try to escape, use Burning Talons to keep them near. Use Wrecking Blow to deal a lot of damage during the fight and Executioner to finish of enemies.

Build name: Zealot
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Roles: Scrapper (12), Meat Shield (1)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1jTj4bT
Race: Breton
Class: Templar
Weapons: Dual Wield variations
Armor types: Heavy
Description: Stack health high, have a comfortable amount of stamina and magic to sustain the quick use of your abilities (Breton racials help). The second loadouts for both PvP and PvE gives the party a bit better chance for survival and sustainability. Soul magic helps the party out as well as gives a supportive ranged ability. AvA abilities can be decisive at bottleneck combats. There isn't too much trick about the build, the loadouts are good as manuals.

Ranged DPS

Build name: Witchhunter
Author: Faroc
Roles: Nuker (8 (PVE1)), Archer (10 (PVE2)), Classic Healer (6 (PVP1)), Mezzer (16 (PVP2)), Buffer (14).
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1fmlbpG
Race: Redguard
Class: Sorcerer
Weapons: Restoration Staff
Armor types: Light 5/7 Medium 2/7
Description: PVE1 = A DPS set against melee, with a healing ability. Keep Quick Siphon up for 50% extra health also gives extra health for allies. Use Crystal Blast and Tangling Webs on enemies during fight, the synergy AoE fears enemies, while Crystal Blast deals AoE damage and has a knockdown. Use Illustrious Healing to heal yourself and your allies and Mages' Wrath to finish off enemies.
PVE2 = A DPS set against mages. Use Dampen Magicka as a defense ability to take 50% less damage from incoming spells. Use Venom Arrow to interrupt spells and Arrow Barrage on groups. Use Evil Hunter if you fight against Undead/Daedra/Werewolves to deal extra damage. Use Mages' Wrath to finish off enemies.
PVP1 = A pure healing set. Keep Quick Siphon up for 50% extra health also gives extra health for allies. Use Rapid Regeneration and Illustrious Healing as direct healing abilities. Drop Blood Altar so allies can heal themselves even more. Shield yourself against melee with Bone Surge, the synergy grants allies a damage shield and increases allies power.
PVP2 = A DPS set focused on CC. Venom Arrow stuns, interrupts and causing off balance, Bombard snares and immobilizes, Crystal Blast knocks the enemy down and Tangling Webs snares and gives the synergy to AoE fear. Use Dampen Magicka as a defense ability to take 50% less damage from incoming spells.
All sets have Absorption Field, that will silence all enemies, dispels magic effects and when it dispels you gain +12% maximum magicka and health.

Build name: Mystic Scout
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Roles: Archer (10), Classic Healer (6), Jack of All Trades (21)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1oU0Mv1
Race: Argonian
Class: Nightblade
Weapons: Bow / Restoration Staff
Armor types: Medium / Light
Description: The Argonian-Nightblade combo can yield a 25% bonus to potions used, which can balance out the spread of health, stamina and mana in some edgy situations. The swiftness from bow and medium armor plus crowd control abilities make it a good kiter with DoT abilities. If the situation requires it, the character can throw in some healing as well, aided by the handy ultimate ability. In PvP the mezzer abilites and Shadow Cloak even out the lack of a melee weapon.

Build name: Fire Mage
Author: Duke
Roles: Nuker (, DoT Master (9), Debuffer (15)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/1brNGBG
Race: Dunmer
Class: Dragonknight
Weapons: Staff (Fire)/Staff (Fire)
Armor Types: Light Armor (7/7)
Description: Heavy close range nukes, preferably after target has been CC'ed by Fire Trap. Lots of survivability skills on the second set for ranged encounters.

Build name: Shaman
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Roles: Nuker (, Buffer (14)
Link: http://eso.massyx.de/NwSIS0
Race: Orc
Class: Sorcerer
Weapons: Destruction Staff / Sword & Shield
Armor types: Light
Description: A casual build suitable for soloing and can turn into a useful supporter in AvA battles. With the orc racials set, the character can take a small beating even with few points assigned to health and stamina. The focus is on ranged abilities, sword and shield is merely a self defense measure and would come into play in PvP when there is more need for support than damage.

Build name: "Grey-Scale"
Author: Guerilla_Frank
Role: Archer (10)
Link: Loadout-1 Loadout-2
Race: Argonian
Class: Nightblade
Weapon: Bow
Armor: Medium (5), Light (2)
Description: Pure single-target rdps, ideal for 1v1 and small skirmish battles. The first loadout is for opening and long range situations, the second is for finishing or escaping. Also, the 1st is focused on stamina abilities, while the 2nd is mostly magic abilites, stacked with assasination for a grand total of +14% critical (17% if ultimate counts). Alchemy can provide for the extra spin. Attacking from stealth, then scuffing an invisibility potion and going for a second shot Lethal Shot if that doesn't reveal invisibility while casting) can pretty much be a 2-hitter for example. Spamming Swallow Soul can maintain health at long range while helping building up ultimate points.

I've deleted Regenerator as role for your fire mage, since he is not a tank. However I think your fire mage is a DoT Master. He has a few debuff abilities to qualify him as a Debuffer too.

Ok, I think I exaggerated a little

Perhaps I could add Pre-emptive healer role to it? As the 2nd ability set is highly based on the dampen magicka, magma armor & elemental wall to prevent damage taken. (And Entropy for regenerating health)

I think it is self preemptive healing, having a preemptive ability doesn't make you a preemptive healer I think. It just gives survivability. Survivability aids you in your main role: Ranged DPS and DoT Master.

Aha! Ok it makes sense

btw, a question about builds in general: how long does it take to switch weapons? I was thinking about having dark cloak on both weapon sets, but if it's very quick to switch weapons I think it might be overkill. For example, you could just start by shooting a bow, and once you have to get invisible to avoid damage, just quickly switch to the other set you have and cast dark cloak from there.

I didn't get to test that in beta (although I did reach level 16, I was too attached to my bow ), so I'm really curious about that.
